Outlier Society, whose boxing movie Creed III, directed by Michael B. Jordan for Amazon/MGM, just got a TKO, is teaming up with Mission: Impossible director Christopher McQuarrie to make the action story Iron Curtain, which is still in the early stages of development at Amazon Studios.
No details regarding the plot have been revealed, although McQuarrie’s original script will be rewritten by him and Erik Jendersen, who penned the screenplay for Band of Brothers.
McQuarrie is known for working with Tom Cruise. He wrote the scripts for several of the Mission Impossible movies as well as directing them. He also wrote and produced Top Gun: Maverick. At the 95th Academy Awards, he was up for Best Picture and Best Adapted Screenplay.
Also, the director will work with Tom Cruise again to write and direct Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part 1 and Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part 2, which will come out in 2023 and 2024, respectively.
In the meantime, Jordan will work with Elizabeth Raposo under the Outlier Society name to make Iron Curtain.
The new project is a follow-up to Michael B. Jordan’s sports movie series Creed, which ended with Creed III, which made about $275 million in its first few weeks in theaters.
In the movie, Michael B. Jordan directed, produced, and played the boxing star Adonis.
