Dog killed, woman critically injured after crash on Highway 6 in Spanish Fork


A dog was killed, and a woman was critically injured during a serious crash at the intersection of Highway 6 and Center Street in Spanish Fork.

Spanish Fork police and fire crews responded to the crash scene around 3 p.m. on Wednesday.

According to Lt. Cory Slaymaker, a car was making a left-hand turn onto Highway 6 while a semi-truck was traveling westbound on the highway.

The passenger car collided with the semi-truck. Witnesses stated the car turned on a yellow light.

The driver of the semi was not injured during the incident, while the female driver of the car was transported in critical condition.

Slaymaker said two dogs were also in the woman’s car — one died on the scene and the other was taken to a nearby veterinarian for further treatment.

Officials stated that drivers were expected to experience traffic delays on Highway 6 for the next hour or so.
