Kylie Jenner, famous for her beauty brand, is now stepping into the fashion industry with her clothing line, “Khy,” set to launch on November 1. The reality TV star and businesswoman announced the news with a provocative Instagram photo, captioned “Meet Khy.”
Kylie is also the face of the brand’s campaign, giving fans a sneak peek at what to expect from her clothing line. In the image, she flaunts a black faux leather trench coat with zippers and red patent leather pumps from Acne Studios.
She shared in an interview with the Wall Street Journal that “Khy” is inspired by her personal wardrobe and the various moods she embodies. The first drop, in collaboration with the label Namilia, is described as “King Kylie – who I am at my core.” It includes 12 items, all priced under $200 and available in sizes from XXS to 4X.
The inspiration for the new line
The name “Khy” is a play on Kylie’s nickname, “Ky,” with the addition of an ‘h’ to symbolize destiny, good fortune, and spirituality, according to the brand.
Kylie’s foray into the clothing industry follows her sisters, Kim and Khloé, who have found success with Skims and Good American, respectively.
However, Kylie is determined to carve her own path, emphasizing that each of her sisters has a unique vision. Momager Kris Jenner affirms that Kylie has been the creative director of her life and wardrobe from a young age.
While starting a new brand can be chaotic, Kylie remains focused on making fashion fun, stressing that they are just “playing dress-up.”
The fans’ reactions were immediate
Fans are eagerly awaiting the launch of “Khy”, with many expressing excitement on her Instagram post. With a release date set for November 1, it won’t be long before Kylie’s clothing line becomes a fashionable reality.
Kylie’s move into fashion follows her successful collaboration with her sister Kendall on a collection for PacSun in 2012. Now, with “Khy”, Kylie is all set to make her mark in the fashion world independently.
