Fireworks, live music and more for Fourth of July in Ventura County


Ventura County is celebrating the Fourth of July with everything from fireworks to parades, car shows, concerts and a pie-eating contest.

Unless stated otherwise, the following events are free.

Camarillo

Fourth of July Fireworks Show: 9 p.m. July 4 at Camarillo Premium Outlet parking lots, 740 Ventura Blvd. Music will air on KBBY-FM, 95.1. For details, see cityofcamarillo.org/fireworks.

Fillmore

Third of July Fireworks: 9 p.m. July 3. Fireworks will be launched from Fillmore Middle School, but city staff encourage spectators to watch from any public parking lot. Information is at fillmoreca.gov/calendar.aspx.

Sespe Creek Fourth of July Car Show: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 4 on Central Avenue in downtown Fillmore. To learn more, go to sespecreekevents.org.

Moorpark

Third of July Fireworks Extravaganza: 4 p.m. July 3 at Arroyo Vista Community Park, 4550 Tierra Rejada Road. Rhythm Krewe and ACME Time Machine will perform. Fireworks are at 9 p.m. Tickets cost $8 in advance and $10, cash only, at the gate. To purchase, go to moorparkca.gov.

Ojai

The fireworks show wows guests at Moorpark's annual 3rd of July Fireworks Extravaganza at Arroyo Vista Community Park on in 2023.

Pre-Fourth of July concert: 6:30 p.m. July 3 at the Libbey Bowl, 210 S. Signal St. Ojai Band will perform. To learn more, see 4thofjulyinojai.com.

Pancake breakfast: 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. July 4 at Chaparral High School auditorium, 414 E. Ojai Ave. The Ojai Lions Club event costs $7 for adults and $5 for kids. Details are at 4thofjulyinojai.com.

Ojai Fourth of July Parade and Fireworks: Parade starts at 10 a.m. July 4 on Ojai Avenue. Gates for the fireworks show open at 5:30 p.m. at Nordhoff High School Stadium, 1401 Maricopa Highway. Tickets in advance cost $10 for adults, $5 for children and $25 to $50 for families of various sizes. To purchase, visit 4thofjulyinojai.com. Ticket prices increase at the gates.

Oxnard

Fireworks by the Sea: 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. July 4 at Channel Islands Harbor. A parade begins at 10:30 a.m. Participants may walk, ride a bicycle or drive a golf cart north on Harbor Boulevard. An electric boat parade begins at 2 p.m. in the harbor. Fireworks start at 9 p.m. For details, see www.channelislandsharbor.org.

Port Hueneme

Mobility, the rock band associated with the Air Force Band of the Golden West, will perform Monday in Port Hueneme.

Mobility, an Air Force rock band: 4 p.m. Monday at Oceanview Pavilion, 575 E. Surfside Drive. Mobility, affiliated with the Air Force Band of the Golden West, will play rock, country and blues during this pre-Fourth celebration. Free tickets are at www.afbandconcerts.com.

Santa Paula

Fourth of July Drone Show: 5 p.m. July 4 at Harding Park, 1300 E. Harvard Blvd. Games and food trucks will be there. One hundred and fifty drones will illuminate the sky, starting around 9 p.m. To learn more, see spcity.org.

Simi Valley

Fourth of July Celebration and Monument Unveiling: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 4 at the Ronald Presidential Library and Museum, 40 Presidential Drive. Live music and other activities will take place around the site. The Charters of Freedom Monument, featuring replicas of the Declaration of Independence, Constitution and Bill of Rights, will be unveiled at noon in Gipper’s Grove. Rock and country bands and fireworks: 3 p.m. July 4 at Rancho Santa Susana Community Park, 5005 E. Los Angeles Ave. Bands at the afternoon and evening event, which concludes with fireworks, include Forever Rod, a Rod Stewart tribute band. Details are at starspangledsimi.com.

Thousand Oaks

Pancake breakfast: 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. July 4. at Borchard Community Center, 190 N. Reino Road, Newbury Park. Cost is $5. Home run derbies, also costing $5, start at 8:30 a.m. at adjacent Borchard Community Park. To learn more, see crpd.org/events/fourth-of-july-activities.

July Fourth Spectacular: 5-9:30 p.m. at Janss Marketplace parking garage rooftop, 275 N. Moorpark Road. Journey USA, a tribute band, will play, and also available will be food booths, activities for kids and a pie-eating contest. Around 9 p.m, people can watch the Conejo Recreation and Park District’s fireworks from Janss or the nearby parking lot at The Oaks, 350 W. Hillcrest Drive. Ventura

Fourth of July Street Fair and Pushem-Pullem Parade: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. downtown. The parade will start at 10 a.m. on Main Street in front of Cemetery Memorial Park. Participants may ride bicycles, scooters, strollers and wagons. Motorized vehicles are not allowed. The parade will lead to the street fair, featuring bands, the ChannelAire Chorus, a classic car show and kids’ activities. Details are at cityofventura.ca.gov.

Ventura Rotary Fourth of July Fireworks Show and Family Picnic: 5 p.m. at Ventura College athletic fields, 4667 Telegraph Road. Soul Infusion will perform. Kids’ activities include a potato sack race. Fireworks start at 9 p.m. Tickets are $10 for guests 13 and older, $5 for ages 4-12, free for children 3 and younger, and $30 for a family of four. To purchase, see venturafireworks.com. All tickets except for the family-of-four special can be purchased at the gate, where only cash will be accepted.
