On Saturday, the state police raided Lil Durk’s event in Chicago after reports of a shooter. This was a bad way for the show to end.
According to TMZ, the 30-year-old artist was almost done with his show when people started running out of the venue because they heard gunshots.
People at the show also stole from the merchandise area, taking advantage of the chaos.
A short time later, police showed up at the United Center looking for a possible shooter. But they found out later that it had been a false alarm.
In a statement to XXL, the Chicago Police Department said “there was no active shooter” at the music venue.
On Sunday, the All My Life rapper talked about the commotion on Instagram and slammed fans who stole the goods.
“Don’t believe the hype we bigger then big thank you Chicago [goat emoji],” he wrote. “Till next time and who all stole the merchandise tag me so I can repost y’all crazy ass [bandage heart emoji],” he said.
A representative for United Center also had something to say about the situation. They said, “We are working closely with authorities to investigate all incidents from last evening at the WGCI Summer Jam show. It became apparent for all involved that ending the show early was in everyone’s best interest as the safety of our guests and employees is a priority. We are thankful that initial incident reports were false and that guests exited the facility safely.”
