Shelley Duvall, Of ‘The Shining’ Fame, Dies at 75

Shelley Duvall, the versatile actor who starred in “The Shining” and had memorable turns in “McCabe & Mrs. Miller,” “Nashville,” “Popeye” and “3 Women,” died Thursday, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed. She was 75.

Duvall died in her sleep of complications from diabetes at her home in Blanco, Texas, her long-term life partner, Dan Gilroy, told the outlet.

“My dear, sweet, wonderful life partner and friend left us. Too much suffering lately, now she’s free. Fly away, beautiful Shelley,” Gilroy said.
