Join Chronicle arts and culture writer Tony Bravo and a who’s who of Bay Area style luminaries for a spring fashion extravaganza that’s all about the looks.
This edition of Bravo’s event series “Show & Tell,” at studio and venue Four One Nine, is a celebration of the unique aesthetic identity the region has created, including Christian Dior ballgowns to hippie chic.
Bravo will sit down with Laura Camerlengo, curator of the de Young Museum exhibition “Fashioning San Francisco: A Century of Style”; fashion designer Simon Ungless; Modern Appealing Clothing owners Chris and Ben Ospital; and author and fashion collector Christine Suppes to talk about what defines San Francisco style and how the city’s style has changed.
Along with the conversation, guests will see a live fashion design challenge with local talent. Artist Quan Nguyen, footwear-centric conceptual artist Ann Duskus, and floral designer and creative director Tyson Lee will each construct a garment made from — twist — San Francisco Chronicle newspapers.
Come dressed to celebrate what makes fashion in the city so fun!
