‘Homes for the Holidays’ returns to Sligo next week


SLIGO – “Homes for the Holidays,” a multi-location craft and gift show in the Sligo area, will be held Thursday and Friday, Nov. 2 and 3, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 4 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Sligo Recreation Center, located at 448 Colerain Street in Sligo, will host multiple vendors including:

  • Kitchen (Ron Smerkar): Thursday and Friday the special will be a turkey dinner and Saturday the special will be sloppy joes. Mild hot sausage sandwiches, hard tack, snacks and crafts are available daily.
  • Lana Swartzlander and Beth Cannuli will have crochet items and Paparazzi jewelry.
  • Beth Corle: “Cherry Tree Keepsakes” offers crochet stuffed animals, flower bouquets, ornaments, keychains and reusable paperless towels and more.
  • Leslie Stewart: “You Are My Sunshine Crafts” has decoupage items, jewelry and other craft items.
  • Barbara Hiles will be selling Tupperware.
  • Alisha Evans: “Attic Room Designs” features graphic tees and accessories.
  • Lisa Eisenman: “Creative Treasures” offers Christmas arrangements, pictures, trees and more.
  • BJ Lapier, author and illustrator will have books for sale that include the horror genre, educational coloring books and religious and inspirational books. All books can be signed by the author.
  • Bonnie Moore: “Bonnie’s Crochet Corner” will have towels, dishcloths, potato bags and more.
  • Beverly James: “Jewelry From the Heart by Bev,” features handmade rings, necklaces, bracelets and Swarovski earrings.
  • Judy Siegel: “Grammy’s Thoughts” offers gnomes, little purses, snowmen, magnets and more.
  • Dorothy Runyan: “Neat Sweet Treats” presents canned and baked goods, freeze dry candies and hard tack.
  • Jim Mabold: Handmade wood toys — cars, trucks, trains, airplanes, farm and zoo animals, dinosaurs, zoo and sports signs. Names made to order.
  • April and Barb Smail: “Stitchin’ Granny” will have embroidered towels, resin art and rope baskets.
  • Jackie Griebel: “Clarion Kindess Project” features fry pies, cookies, bread and rolls, fudge, hard tack and other baked goods.
  • Carol Shuey: “Shuey’s Creek Bottom Crafts” is selling handmade sewn items.
  • Sarah Shick offers primitive crafts and gifts, as well as canned and baked goods.
  • Alisha Smerkar: “Lish’s Stitches and Crafts” presents crocheted items, including stuffed animals, fall and Christmas decor and kitchen pot holders.

Multiple vendors are located throughout the Sligo area. Watch for the shamrock signs. They include:

  • Sligo Church of the Nazarene — Located at 311 Madison Street will feature a quilt show and crafts.
  • Peggy Kriebel — “P-N-B Crafts” Located at 10186 Route 58 in Sligo, offers seasonal and primitive handmade wood crafts. Will accept a limited number of orders.
  • Sligo Presbyterian Church — Located at 403 Colerain Street in Sligo, is offering soups, sandwiches and dessert. Eat in or take-out. The soups are available for sale by the quart. Baked goods are also for sale. Local crafters will be set up in this location.
  • Lorina Himes — Located at 10088 Route 58 in Sligo, will have wood crafts and cookies for sale.
  • “Ma Ma’s Christmas Attic” by Connell and Brenda Kindel — Located at 524 Penn Street in Sligo, at garage in alley, has wood crafts, ornaments, hot dog sauce, fudge, cinnamon rolls, cookies and much more.
  • Kayla Brown: “Christmas on the Hill” — Located at 81 Huey Road in Rimersburg will present embroidered and sewn items, handmade hair bows and accessories, primitive and holiday decor, farmhouse signs and more.
  • Grace Community Church Women’s Guild — Located at 3225 Curllsville Road in Curllsville, will be selling gently used Christmas items, baked goods, homemade soup and noodles and crafts. Kitchen hours are 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
