In his new movie Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, Tom Cruise did action scenes that made people gasp.

The 60-year-old actor who played Maverick in Top Gun shocked his fans at CinemaCon on Thursday by showing off an exclusive new trailer for the upcoming seventh movie in the hit action series.

Cruise was seen “driving at breakneck speed through the streets and alleys of Rome” with his co-star Hayley Atwell, who will play Grace on screen. This was Cruise’s return to his famous role as Ethan Hunt.

The people at the Las Vegas event were shocked when Cruise and Atwell switched from motorbikes to police cars in a scene that was full of action.

“Tom wanted us to let you know this is not the opening of the film,” said Chris Aronson, the head of Paramount’s marketing, as he introduced the scene.

He also said that he doesn’t think it’s a stretch to say that this movie will be the best in the series.

Variety says that Cruise, on the other hand, was not there.

The first part of Mission: Impossible: Dead Reckoning will come out in theaters on July 12, two days earlier than planned.

The cast includes Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, Vanessa Kirby, and Henry Czerny, as well as Cruise and Atwell.
