Easy Wind with Sundays at Midnight

Easy Wind has built a reputation of creating shows that pull deeply from the vibe and feel of classic ’70’s era Grateful Dead, a period when The Dead were firing on all cylinders of youth, exuberance, and creativity. Coming from a virtual lifetime of studying and performing their catalog, Easy Wind cooks up setlists that would fit right in with the epic runs of Europe ’72, Spring ’77, or any other magical runs of that era. Easy Wind has the unique ability to embody the style, the jams, and the riffs that were the trademark of Garcia, Weir, and the rest of the band in their heyday.

Easy Wind with Sundays at Midnight will be performing on Friday, July 19 from 7 p.m.-11 p.m. at the Crystal Bay Club.

Palisades Tahoe Mountain Run

The Palisades Mountain Run, hosted by Tahoe Mountain Sports, returns to Palisades. This 3.6-mile race with a 2,000-foot elevation gain attracts athletes and adventure seekers alike. Proceeds support the Gene Upshaw Memorial Tahoe Forest Cancer Center and Far West Nordic Ski Education Association. Participants can honor cancer survivors by signing a memorial flag carried along the race route. Spectators with event tickets can ride the tram to High Camp, enjoy food, beer from FiftyFifty Brewing Co., live music, and yoga.

Palisades Tahoe Mountain Run will be on Saturday, July 20 at 9 a.m. For details and registration, visit farwestnordic.org.

Reforestation Volunteer Day at Boreal

Join Adventure Scientists for a Volunteer Field Day focused on regenerating our national forests. Western U.S. forests face challenges like wildfires and climate change, and reforestation is crucial. The U.S. Forest Service can only replant 20% of needed areas due to limited native seeds. Volunteers are needed to locate “cone crops” for seed collection.

Reforestation Volunteer Day will be on Saturday, July 20 from 9:30 a.m.-4 p.m. at Boreal. The event at Boreal/Woodward Tahoe includes training to record cone crop data in Tahoe National Forest. This data supports reforestation efforts, and volunteers can continue this work independently after training. Skate the Lake will be on Saturday, July 20 from 12 p.m.-7 p.m. at Commons Beach in Tahoe City.
