Woman hit by car in Williamsburg traffic crash


WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (WRIC) — A 21-year-old woman is suffering from life-threatening injuries after being hit by a car Thursday morning.

Both Williamsburg fire and police departments responded to a traffic crash involving the pedestrian on Richmond Road near Armistead Avenue.

Officials say at approximately 8:12 a.m. a black Audi sport utility vehicle was driving east on Richmond Road when it hit the woman walking on the road.

The City’s medical director provided care for the victim at the scene and during the transport to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

Virginia State Police is assisting the Williamsburg Police Department in investigating this crash incident.

As the investigation continues, officials say Richmond Road, between Boundary Street and the westbound side of Dawson Circle is closed.
