After reporting for different outlets across the country, Charlie Berens realized the news wasn’t for him.

Instead of interviewing celebrities on the red carpet, Berens figured he would be star of the show for a change and started doing standup comedy at night. As part of his act, he used moments from his time in journalism. Eventually that character inspired the “Manitowoc Minute,” the video program that launched his career to new heights.
