Civic Center Foundation brings back ‘Movie Groupie’ Nights for family fun.

LIMA, OH (WLIO) – Round up your kids and grab the popcorn for family movie nights in the downtown area.

The Lima Civic Center Foundation has announced the return of its “Movie Groupie” series for the 2023 and 2024 season. The series will take place in the Crouse Performance Hall at the Veterans Memorial Civic and Convention Center. The series will feature 6 films compared to 5 from last year and the hall can fill up to 1,500 people. The groupie movie series promises to be an affordable family friendly event with tickets only costing $5 and popcorn and refreshments will be available for purchase as well as movie trivia & fun activities for the whole family.

“So it’s just like I was talking just about the accessibility to families. As the foundation, we are lucky enough to be able to bring these types of things to the community to enjoy, as a family. And to people who wouldn’t really come into the Civic Center necessarily. Maybe to a show, this gets them in here and you know really gives them that experience as well. In front of the stage, and out in the audience. And you know we really can’t do it without our sponsors too to help support this to keep these ticket prices low, which is lima pallet.” said civic center foundation director of development, Carmen Cecala-Wells.

The movie series kicks off on November 19th with the Disney classic, “Aladdin”. The rest of the line-up includes “Frozen”, “The Land Before Time”, “Labyrinth”, “The Little Mermaid”, and “SING”. Tickets can be purchased in person at the box office or at limaciviccenter.com.
