The Baldwin County Preparatory Academy opened its doors on Thursday, Aug. 8, 2024, with 772 students. State Superintendent Eric Mackey, and other state and local school officials, were given a tour of the new facility on Monday, Aug. 12, 2024. The new career tech high school — a first of its kind in Alabama — offers programs of study that include health sciences, automotive technology, cyber security, culinary arts, engineering, cosmetology, construction, welding, graphic design, HVAC, teaching, aviation and logistics.
