ABILENE, Texas – The Texans will make their second trip of the fall to Abilene Christian for the Wildcat Invitational after competing in the ACU Women’s Fall Invite at the end of September.
 
“We have another great opportunity this weekend to compete,” said head coach Elianne Douglas-Miron. “We are looking forward to playing teams that we will compete against in the spring. We have one more chance to work on things we’ve been working on in practice so I’m excited to see everyone step up this weekend.”
 
The Texans will have all eight athletes in action this weekend. Suiting up for the Texans will be Elsa Boisson, Maretha Burger, Noelia Lorca, Martha Makantasi, Ximena Morales, Adeliya Mukhutdinova, Emma Persson and Clara Sobius.
 
In the last outing for the Texans Persson and Makantasi fought their way into the round of 32 in singles action with wins over Rice and Houston respectively.
 
On the doubles side of things, Burger and Makantasi made a deep run in the consolation bracket after a tough loss in the first round of the main draw. The pair dominated and fought their way all the way to the semi-finals where they fell against Texas.
 
The Texans will compete at ACU Friday – Sunday. Doubles action will get underway on Friday at 11 a.m. with singles to follow.  There will be no live stats for the weekend.
