In January of 2024, THE PACK Plaza made an appearance at the inaugural Brussels Auto Show (BAS), hosted by 402 Automotive. The event drew a crowd of 122,000 people, and BAS organizer Ronald van den Broek has already revealed plans for a second show next year in Ghent.

Ronald van den Broek: “Starting in 2025, the Brussels Auto Show will now be known as the Belgium Auto Show and will take place at Flanders Expo in Ghent. This move allows for over 70,000 square meters of space to create an unparalleled car exhibition. Highlights include the return of the Car Catwalk with hypercars and supercars, and a new outdoor Action Arena featuring rally car demos, stunts and drift shows. There will also be a focus on new car models and contributions from local and regional distributors, as well as dozens of exhibitors from the aftermarket, leasing, accessories and more. THE PACK Plaza will showcase the latest electric motorbikes and mopeds.”

This highly anticipated event will offer a dynamic and cutting-edge car showcase in Ghent, highlighted by attractions like the Action Arena and vast indoor and outdoor areas. “Based on feedback received from online surveys, the majority of visitors to the first BAS supported the move from Brussels to Ghent. With over 90% expressing interest in attending the second edition, it was clear that Ghent and the newly added Action Arena were popular choices. These factors played a significant role in our decision to continue with BAS at its new location. “The love for cars in Belgium is still thriving, and we are excited to welcome back car enthusiasts to Ghent in 2025,” stated van den Broek.

How does THE PACK Plaza fits into this ‘petrolhead’ event?

Guy Salens, THE PACK: “In January, we collaborated with 402 Automotive to present a live electric hub that spanned over 300 square meters. The event featured various light electric vehicle manufacturers and their innovative solutions for 2-wheeler mobility. The turnout was staggering, as the interest in sustainable transportation on two wheels was apparent even among die-hard fans of traditional gas-powered vehicles. We heard stories from individuals searching for specific solutions, some of whom were pleasantly surprised by the fact that all the vehicles showcased were electric.”

Have you heard the saying: if you can’t beat them, join them? Well, it may be a bit dramatic (smiles), but the electric two-wheeler industry is still an emerging and underestimated market. Since 2017, our international platform THE PACK has been promoting this new form of e-mobility to a wide audience online. And now with THE PACK Plaza, we have the exciting opportunity to showcase real-life solutions to the public. Along with test rides, the experience is complete. Our focus isn’t just on existing motorcycle riders, but also on potential clients who are tired of being stuck in traffic. The technology has made it incredibly easy to ride these lightweight electric vehicles, and in Belgium, you can even use your car license to legally ride a 11 kW motorbike (which is comparable to a traditional 125cc bike).

Tickets BAS#2 go fast as we speak …

Only a week after the announcement of the Brussels Auto Show’s move to Flanders Expo in Ghent, their ticket shop is buzzing with activity. The organizers predict that the first 5,000 tickets for this weekend have already been sold at this rate. Ronald van den Broek reflects on last year’s fast ticket sales for the first edition in Brussels with a similar promotion, but this year has exceeded all expectations. It is clear that the Belgian Auto Show is gaining popularity in Flanders and even among ticket buyers from Wallonia!
