Paris Hilton made a big appearance at her first Met Gala on Monday. She wore an elegant black leather dress by Marc Jacobs as she walked down the red carpet.
Her off-the-shoulder dress with long sleeves and built-in gloves had a sparkly collar and long sleeves that ended in a dramatic train.
Hilton posed like crazy for her first picture on the Met steps. She wore the dress with a pair of black glittery platform shoes.
Marc Jacobs told Vogue on the red carpet that he believed “it would be interesting and exciting to see her in a black gown” because the TV personality is so often seen in bright hues.
She put a high ponytail in her blonde hair and wore sparkly diamond stud earrings.
Page Six Style said last week that the “Simple Life” star would be going to her first Met Gala this year. She was asked by Vogue and her designer date, as TMZ first reported.
Hilton should be at the party with the theme “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty” because she was friends with the late creative head of Chanel.
The heiress-turned-entrepreneur wore Chanel more than once over the years, and she also posed with Lagerfeld at a Dom Perignon party in 2006 to celebrate his partnership with the champagne brand.
Tonight, she wore a black flowery ribbon choker that looked like Karl Lagerfeld’s signature black tie. She told Vogue that Lagerfeld was “such an inspiration” to her.
Even though this is Paris’s first time at the Met, her sister Nicky went in 2001.
In her book “Anna: The Biography,” which will be published in 2022, author Amy Odell talks about how Vogue boss Anna Wintour, who has been in charge of almost every part of the Met Gala since 1995, makes each year’s guest list based on who is “in” and who is “out” in the fashion business.
Clearly, Hilton has made the transition from “out” to “in” in Wintour’s eyes, similar to her friend and former employee, Kim Kardashian.
