The “Don’t Worry, Darling” actress Florence Pugh showed up to the 2023 Met Gala with a shaved head and an airy presence.
Her look was an ode to Karl Lagerfeld’s famous monochromatic style. She wore a sleek black suit with a tie that was buttoned up.
Along with her Valentino hat, which was a crown of feathers, she wore a silky white dress with a long train and a small black bow.
But her dress wasn’t the most interesting thing about her.
It was her hair or the lack of it.
The actress from “Midsommar” showed off her newly shaved head, which drew attention to her sky-high cloud of feathers and dramatic cat’s eye makeup.
The 27-year-old actress joked with Valentino’s design director Pierpaolo Piccioli in an interview with the New York Times before Monday night’s gala, referring to the extravagant figure as “big” and adding, “But we like big, don’t we?”
“The whole point is that you are expressing yourself with what you are wearing,” she said, adding, “it doesn’t matter if people don’t necessarily like it.”
“I don’t think anything that I do has to be 100% loved,” she said next. “Things being up for debate is good. It means people are interested.”
But it was clear that Twitter users liked Miss Flo’s bold new look.
Pugh was pictured last week at the reopening of Tiffany and Co.’s 52nd Street flagship store.
She looked amazing in a sheer mint green dress and a short lob with bangs on the Tiffany blue carpet.
