Lehigh Welcomes Holy Cross on Senior Night


BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh men’s soccer will host Holy Cross on Saturday at 6 p.m. Saturday’s game will also be Senior Night for seven Mountain Hawks. 

Seniors Austen Carranza, Athanasios Cosse, Hassane Diakho, Nolan Jetter, Blake Koski, Michael Laret and Jesse Ryan will all be honored at halftime. 

Saturday’s game is also a must-win for the Mountain Hawks, with just two regular season games left. Lehigh comes into the match with a 2-9-5 record (1-4-2 PL),  and the Crusaders are 5-8-3 (2-3-2 PL). The Mountain Hawks are ninth in the league standings with five points, and Holy Cross is in seventh with eight points. 

Lehigh has struggled to get things going on the offensive end, as the Mountain Hawks have  gone four games without scoring a goal. Through 16 games played, Lehigh is being outshot 223-106.

Perry Kingson still leads the way with four goals on the season, scoring all four of those off of penalty kicks. 

The Mountain Hawks are coming off of a 2-0 loss to American. The Crusaders are coming off of a 0-0 draw versus Navy last weekend.

Senior goalkeeper Blake Koski has started the last three games in net for Lehigh. Koski has recorded a 1.70 GAA and a 64.6% save percentage. 

Ethan Gill and Evan Jones have both put up 13 points this season for Holy Cross (5G, 3A). Tristan Stephani has played 15 games in net for the Crusaders. Stephani has a 1.48 GAA and a 69.7% save percentage.

The all-time series is 14-14-7. Last year, the two teams tied 2-2 at home. Holy Cross found the equalizer in the 86th minute. 

Lehigh will close out the regular season on Wednesday with a matchup against Bucknell at 6 p.m. at the Ulrich Sports Complex.
