Monday morning, New York City police are searching for a woman suspected of setting fire to a Pride flag flying outside a Manhattan restaurant. A woman is seen on the footage from a security camera setting fire to the “Make America Gay Again” sign outside the Little Prince restaurant in SoHo before escaping in a white Vehicle. NYC Councilmember Erik Bottcher stated, “What we witnessed on the video was a hate crime.” Someone who wanted to instill fear in the entire town. Thankfully, nobody was injured in the fire. New York’s attorney general, Letitia James, urged anyone with knowledge of the attack to get in touch with the NYPD. James tweeted, “New York will not tolerate overt acts of hatred against our communities.”
