The Road Knights Auto Club started out as an idea by two brothers and their teenage friends back in 1954 who lived near the racetrack once located at the bottom of Welcher Avenue in Peekskill, where the current Blue Mountain Plaza sits on 7 acres of land containing Apple Farms, McDonalds, CVS and a few other retail stores.

In early 1955, the Road Knights were officially born in the shadow of the old racetrack and Peekskill Stadium. The Road Knights members loved tinkering and accessorizing their old cars, making their cars a statement of their owners personality.

As the years went on, the Club began to dwindle. However, in the early 80’s a renewed interest in car collecting and 50’s nostalgia swept the country. Since then, the Road Knights have continued to grow. The group promotes an interest in the auto world through car shows and auto-related events and to promote the club with an emphasis on safety and responsibility. Staying true to their credo, the Road Knights help the local community, its people and organizations in any way they can. In doing so, they created the Road Knights Car Show putting their Custom Cars on display annually for over 40 years. With the funds that they raise, they donate back to the community. Over the years, the Road Knights have donated grants to the Peekskill Volunteer Ambulance Corps, the Peekskill Museum, and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital just to name a few.

In 2025, the Road Knights Auto Club will have its 70th Anniversary. They are planning to make their annual auto show a very special event. Mark your calendars now for the Road Knights auto show on September 14, 2025 for the 70th anniversary of the club.
