A new facility in Parke County will help train the next generation of automotive trades workers.

In August, North Central Parke Schools opened a new automotive technology facility.

The Wabash River Career and Technical Education Program will use the facility.

Officials for the program say the environment resembles that of a professional automotive repair shop.

One student tells News 10 that he hopes to be able to use the skills he learns in his professional career one day.

“My future plans are to become an electrician, probably because I’m interested in how electricity flows. It’s a good industry to get into,” said Justin Cooper, a student at Parke Heritage High School.
