HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (TENNESSEE VALLEY LIVING) – Before picking out any lipstick color, it is important to know what the undertones of your skin are. Huntsville MUA, Olivia Sparks, shares her tips on how to identify your undertones and find the perfect lipstick shade for you!
Sparks states that the secret to finding your skin’s undertone is quite simple…take a look at your wrists and hands! Not everyone has the same color veins. Some people’s veins may appear to be blue, some may look green, and others may look more purple. Once you take a look at the color of your veins, you are ready to find your lipstick color!
Blue veins= Neutral undertone:
If you have blue veins, you would be considered to have a neutral undertone. You can wear any red lip, but a cool tone red lip will brighten your teeth! Olivia recommends people with neutral undertones to try Maybelline’s SuperStay Matte Ink Lipstick in the shade ‘Pioneer’ for a matte lipstick look. If you are more on the glossy side, try Maybelline’s Stay Vinyl Ink Lipstick in the shade ‘Wicked’.
Purple veins= Cool undertone:
If your veins appear to be purple, you are most likely cool toned, with natural pink or red tones in your skin. Olivia suggests trying Maybelline’s SuperStay Matte Ink Lipstick in the shade ‘Pioneer’, which is the same color she recommends for neutral undertones. The bright red lipstick with pink undertones makes people with cooler undertones look gorgeous!
Green veins= Warm undertone:
For those whose veins appear green, you most likely have a warm golden undertone. You will love the Maybelline SuperStay Matte Lipstick in the shade ‘Ground-breaker’ and Maybelline’s SuperStay Vinyl Ink in the shade ‘Red Hot’!!
