On the Podcast: Alexa Chung, the Ever-Evolving It Girl

Model, designer, television presenter, and self-described “geriatric It girl” Alexa Chung joins The Run-Through this week to run through her jam-packed fashion month—including walking in Tory Burch’s spring 2025 show during New York Fashion Week. “It was really, really fun. But I just didn’t anticipate that it would actually also be quite scary,” Chung tells Chioma Nnadi. Still, after a years-long hiatus from the runway, her cameo marked a thrilling milestone: “Made my NYC runway debut at 40,” she noted in a recent Instagram post, accompanied by a photo of her in full glam the day of the show.

Also top of mind for Chung this month? Dropping two new collections less than a week apart. On September 4, she launched a ’70s-inspired, denim-focused capsule with Madewell, and on September 8, she released her seventh collaboration with Barbour. In what Chung calls a moment of psychic premonition, she designed a jacket inspired by Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher before the band’s highly publicized reunion was announced—although she’s not quite sure how the famously cantankerous singer would feel about it. “That’s a hard man to impress… I imagine he’d be like, ‘What the fuck is this? I’m not going to wear that wax jacket. Why’d you call it my name?’” Chung also talks through her approach to personal style during London fashion week, renovating her home, and the tribulations of being a “mid” cook.
