MAC honors BSU’s Parrott
CLEVELAND — The Mid-American Conference named Ball State’s Kiah Parrott its Women’s Golfer of the Week. It’s the second time this season and third time in her career the Kokomo High School product has taken the league’s weekly honor.
Parrott had a sizzling tournament this week at the Diamante Intercollegiate while leading the Cardinals to two school records. She tied for sixth out of 96 golfers with a 7-under 209 for the tourney. Parrott shot a 3-under 69 in the opening round on Sunday, shot par 72 in the second round, and closed with a season-low 4-under 68 in the final round on Tuesday.
With Parrott’s 68 leading the way, Ball State posted an 18-hole school record of 285 in the final round. The Cardinals also set a 54-hole record at 865, 10 shots better than the previous record set earlier this year. The Cardinals tied for sixth in the tournament.
The Diamante event closed Ball State’s fall schedule. Next for BSU is the Bowling Green Spring Invitational in Arizona Feb. 13-14.
