Vivienne Westwood, Moncler, and More Join Shanghai Fashion Week

Shanghai Fashion Week Solidifies Its Spring 2025 Lineup, Reflecting the Growing Impact of the Market with Notable International Brands

The Spring 2025 edition of Shanghai Fashion Week is set to showcase a dynamic blend of local talent and international brands – including Moncler, Vivienne Westwood, Paul Smith, and KNWLS, each of whom is responding to challenging market conditions and increased luxury spending in China with strategic activations from pop-ups to runway shows. The event will run from October 9 to 17, featuring a mix of runway shows, pop-ups, and events across the city.

Chinese designer and former model Lv Yan’s brand Comme Moi will kick off the nine-day fashion marathon on October 9, while Vivienne Westwood will close out the official runway schedule on October 17. Notably, designer Angel Chen, who has spent the past few years away from the public eye exploring endangered crafts in China, will make her return to the runway with a collaboration with the Chinese tea brand Chagee on October 15.

Other standout shows this season include Shushu/Tong, Mark Gong, Oude Waag, and newcomers like Joyce Bao and Aqohill, a Taobao fashion label known for its craftsmanship. These designers will present their collections at venues such as the Xintiandi main stage and Labelhood’s Rockbund space. Several established names, including Samuel Gui Yang, Jacques Wei, and Xander Zhou, will also present their new collections off-schedule during the week.

Beyond the runway, Moncler, a key partner of Shanghai Fashion Week, will host the unveiling of its latest Genius project on October 19. Paul Smith is set to open a new flagship store at the Bund Finance Center on October 13, while rising star London-based star KNWLS will stage a pop-up at concept store ENG in downtown Shanghai on October 11.

Additionally, Harrods will continue its Hives event at Fotografiska Shanghai, and the week will also feature several conferences, including Shaway Yeh’s Shan Future Forum, which will address pressing topics around sustainability, innovation, and creativity.
