Dakota Academy of Performing Arts rebrands

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – At a news conference on Tuesday, the Washington Pavilion’s Dakota Academy of Performing Arts announced its new name and logo.

The youth theatre program will now be known as Spotlight Theatre Company.

The rebrand is to mark the next chapter of the program.

“It is breathing new life into the program. I am very excited, even from just the excitement from our students, our families, our staff. As we have been slowly announcing the name to the key stake holders in the program, the excitement gets bigger and bigger and bigger, so that momentum and that energy that is behind it, there is nothing stopping us now,” said the Pavilion’s Assistant Director of Performances Bob Wendland.

Disney’s FINDING NEMO Jr. will take place October 24–27 at the Orpheum Theater Center followed by MEAN GIRLS Jr. on November 14–17 at the Orpheum and A KID’S CHRISTMAS CAROL on December 6–7 in the Belbas Theater.

Spotlight Theatre Company’s fall season single-ticket sale begins Friday, September 27, at 10 a.m. Visit WashingtonPavilion.org/Spotlight to purchase tickets.
