Classic Cars shine at WQRK and Bedford Parks Department 18th annual Car, Truck, and Bike Show


BEDFORDThe 2024 Car, Truck, and Bike Show presented by WQRK and the Bedford Parks Department was a roaring success last Saturday, September 21. Slick rides lined up in the Thornton Park pavilion parking lot and glistened in the bright sun to draw in the crowd.

Sean Duncan and Jeremy Newbold from Southern Indiana’s Classic Hits 105.5 cranked out the tunes, while Brown Bag BBQ and Boom Burger were on hand to handle any culinary needs. The new addition of a cornhole tournament was a standout at this year’s event, with a $500 prize for the winning team.

Awards were given in 11 unique categories, and the winners were:

  • Best in Show– Dave Winkler, Ford Mustang
  • WQRK Choice– Kevin Box, Pontiac Firebird
  • Parks Choice– Matt Harshaw, Pontiac Trans-Am
  • People’s Choice– Kenneth Roll, Dodge Coronet
  • Best Truck– Justin Phelps, Studebaker
  • Most Unique– Rod Roesler, Chevrolet Camaro
  • Best Import– Catherine Pennington, Subaru Crosstrek Limited
  • Best 2000-Present– Tim Beyer Ford Shelby Cobra
  • Best 1974-1999– Gerald Scott, Chevrolet Nova
  • Best 1960-1973– Gary Beasley, Chevrolet Chevelle
  • Best Pre-1960– Claude Kern, 1929 Ford Roadster
The bracket was full for the show’s first-ever cornhole tournament

The cornhole tournament had an incredible turnout. Teams competed for the top prize of $500, and the top three finishers were:

Champions: Magic Haha– Michael Ramey and Harold Allen were awarded the $500 cash prize.

2nd Place: B-Town Baggers– Jaden and Seth were awarded the $100 cash prize.

3rd Place: Garrison– Greg and Connor Garrison were awarded the $50 cash prize.
