Erie Arts and Culture welcomed the community inside its new space in the city’s downtown.

That new location is on the second and third floors of the historic Cashier’s House, 417 State St.

Anne O’Dell, the executive director, said the move took place Aug. 5 with the space being transformed into a place that features regional artists, arts education programs and more.

She added that visitors would see many different art forms at the new space. Their opening featured hats from African tradition and multimedia arts.

“We really wanted a place that we could welcome the community into. We want to be as accessible as possible to the people we’re here to serve while we’re also going out into the six counties that we serve in northwestern Pennsylvania to continue to build relationships and serve people through arts and culture and to really create a vibrant network in the region,” she explained.

O’Dell also said this also allows Erie Arts and Culture to support creative entrepreneurship and thriving communities.
