Two people hospitalized after vehicle strikes a stone wall, flips over multiple times and hits home in Glastonbury


Two people were hospitalized after a serious motor vehicle crash in Glastonbury on Friday night, police said.

Members of the Glastonbury Police Department, Glastonbury Volunteer Fire Department and EMS responded to a report of a single-car crash in the area of 203 Wassuc Road around 11:58 p.m., according to the Glastonbury Police Department.

A preliminary investigation revealed the vehicle was traveling east on Wassuc Road and failed to negotiate a left-hand curve as the car approached the intersection of Country Club Road. The vehicle left the south side of the roadway before driving into the side yard of a residence, hitting a stone wall and overturning multiple times before coming to rest on its passenger side against the home, police said.

The driver and passenger were extricated from the vehicle and transported to an area hospital, according to police.

The residence was not structurally affected by the crash, police said.

Members of the Glastonbury Police Department Traffic Unit, as well as the Metro Traffic Services accident reconstruction team, responded to the crash to process the scene.
