Dunwoody Celebrates Creativity with a Packed Arts & Culture Month Calendar

The city is launching its annual Arts & Culture Month, celebrating all creative offerings of the community. From public art to theater, to music, Dunwoody’s cultural partners are set to present a full calendar of exciting events. Mayor Lynn Deutsch stated, “We have so much to offer that you can find something different to do every day to celebrate Dunwoody Arts & Culture Month,” according to a recent announcement.

On the visual arts front, there’s plenty of inspiring work to discover throughout the city. Throughout the month, new murals that honor Black History Month and Women’s History Month will deck the walls of Brook Run Skate Park, created by talented local artists, including Dunwoody High School students. Visitors are encouraged to drop by to check out the masterpieces or explore other public art installations, guided by a helpful map provided at www.dunwoodyga.gov/findart.

For theater enthusiasts, Agatha Christie’s “The Mousetrap” will be performed at the Stage Door Theatre from October 12 to 27, promising both suspense and humor. Also, the festival will feature “The Story of Diwali – A Forest Walk,” presented by Create Dunwoody, the Dunwoody Nature Center, and the Stage Door Theatre. This immersive storytelling experience will lighten the nights of October 17 and October 18. Additionally, participants can engage in a hands-on rangoli and diya workshop the following day. If you’re looking to indulge your taste buds and explore culture, mark your calendar for October 26 for the Spirits for Spruill event. The Spruill Center for the Arts will be showcasing its fifth AMPLIFY mural—result of a nationwide artist hunt—paired with high-end tequila tastings and blues rock soundtrack. This event promises to blend art appreciation with delightful flavors and will take place at the Spruill Gallery.
