Now that it’s October, it’s time to start thinking about Halloween plans and trick-or-treating.
For most of Lancaster County, trick-or-treating happens on Halloween.
This year, that means trick-or-treating takes place Thursday, Oct. 31, between 6-8 p.m., rain or shine.
In 2022, the Lancaster Inter-Municipal Committee (LIMC) decided that trick-or-treating would happen on Halloween each year, instead of making accommodations for if Halloween falls on a weekend. This ruling is just a guidance, though, and not bound by law or policy.
The LIMC is not an official government entity, but more of an alliance that includes the city of Lancaster; boroughs of Columbia, East Petersburg, Millersville and Mountville; and townships of East Hempfield, East Lampeter, Lancaster, Manheim, Manor, Pequea, West Hempfield and West Lampeter.
Outside of the LIMC, other municipalities are setting their trick or treat schedules. If you would like your municipality to be added to this post, or you notice any schedule changes, email [email protected]. This article will be updated with any changes.
