$273 million in relief is heading to Western North Carolina.

Governor Cooper signed the bill with unanimous support. $16 million will aid school nutrition employees while about half of Western NC school districts are open.

News 12 spoke to an ENC Nutrition Director who says nutrition programs only make money when students eat. Without students there is no revenue, making aid critical to retaining staff.
