Owen Rogers grew up in New York City and the New York Public Library was a huge influence in his youth. From summer reading to after school programming, the library and the books it housed provided escapism and a window into readers. During his residency at the Fulton County Public Library, Owen paid homage to the role the library has played in his life, by capturing portraits of people with their favorite books. In the months of his residency, Atlanta’s musical talent, visual artists, creatives and library regulars dropped in and sat for photos with the books most impactful to them. Drop Everything And Read Atlanta, (D.E.A.R. Atlanta) is a collection of those images.
