Orange County Arts Council’s Art Affair set for November 16th

GOSHEN – The Orange County Arts Council will host this year’s Art Affair on Saturday, November 16th at the Sugar Loaf Performing Arts Center.

Early entry begins at 4:00 pm with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, followed by a dinner at 5:00 p.m. General admission is at  6:00 p.m. This year’s Art Affair will explore the theme “The Underground: Celebrating Counterculture in the Arts,” showcasing the rebellious spirit and avant-garde movements that have influenced artistic expression.

“This year’s Art Affair event celebrates the power of creativity and the vibrant artistic community of Orange County,” said Todd Hulet, Executive Director of Orange County NY Arts Council. We are diving into the world of counterculture and its influence on the arts over the decades. We are excited to create an event that encourages creativity, and thinking outside of the box, and is not your typical gala or art event.”

Art Affair 2024 will offer an immersive experience with diverse performances and complex art installations. The OCNY Arts Council has commissioned original work from LotuZ, Bradford Scobie as Sir Richard Castle & Friends, Jena Argenta, and Chris Roque, the night’s featured artists. Additional works will be presented by Shawn Rawls, J.A.G.H., Laces Out, Emelia Estep, Jim Savage, and more.

The program will also include the presentation of the 2024 OCNY Art Awards, celebrating those who have made outstanding contributions to the arts in Orange County and beyond. This year’s honorees include the Orange County Human Rights Commission’s Student Art Show, Liz Neilsen & Carolina Wheat, Elijah Wheat Showroom, Russell Ger, Conductor, Greater Newburgh Symphony Orchestra and Production Resource Group (PRG):

Proceeds from The Art Affair directly support programs and cultural events such as the Hudson Valley Creative Impact Conference, the Student Arts Showcase, OCLive!, Arts Outreach initiatives, and Community Arts Grants.
