Bellevue Seeks Community Feedback on City’s Arts and Culture

The city of Bellevue is inviting all community members to comment on the city’s arts and culture ecosystem by answering an online survey that will be available until Oct. 31.

Feedback from the online survey, as well as input from a recent event and past community-engagement efforts, will be used by the city and its arts commission to help inform future support for the arts, a release said.

More than 60 art enthusiasts provided their input during an event held Oct. 9. Participants received an overview of current arts efforts in Bellevue and learned about the Bellevue Arts Museum’s receivership process, which the museum announced in September as a way to pursue financial stability. (BAM announced its closure that same month.)

Following the presentations, participants broke out into table discussions and shared their thoughts on the future of arts and culture in Bellevue. Common themes that emerged included a call for more art galleries, interactive art experiences, and opportunities that engage youth. Head here for a recording of the session.
