In its heyday, the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show was a pop culture event like no other. It was the rare runway show that drew an audience far beyond the fashion crowd. For models, walking in the show was a right of passage; getting one’s wings was an industry stamp of approval. Household names like Tyra Banks and Gisele Bündchen, Heidi Klum, and Gigi Hadid all graced the runway early in their careers. The show also featured A-list musical guests, from Taylor Swift to Ariana Grande and Lady Gaga. The 2001 show even opened with a live performance by Andrea Bocelli.
Despite its ubiquity, the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show saw declining ratings throughout the 2010s, and went on hiatus in 2019. Victoria’s Secret has undergone further restructuring in the years since, and announced in 2023 that the fashion show would return in 2024. This month, we’ll see just how much has changed, as the show airs live October 15.
It seems the brand is bringing back defining features of the old show. The cast of models that’s confirmed so far includes stalwarts like Candice Swanepoel and Behati Prinsloo. Big name musical guests are also guaranteed, and there are sure to be surprises, too. Ahead, everything we know about the 2024 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.
How to Watch the 2024 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show
This year’s show will take place on October 15 at 7 p.m. ET. The pink carpet will begin at 6:30. It will be streaming live on Amazon Live and Prime Video, as well as Victoria Secret’s Instagram, Youtube, and TikTok. It will take place in a yet-to-be-disclosed location in New York City.
Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show: Models and Presenters
The star-studded cast of models that will walk in the show includes icons of the show’s earlier years, like Swanepoel, Prinsloo, and Tyra Banks, who hasn’t walked in the show since 2005. “I never thought that I would be back on this runway, to be honest,” Banks said in a video featured on her and Victoria’s Secret’s Instagram. Big names like Gigi Hadid and Imaan Hammam will also walk alongside Taylor Hill, Mayowa Nicholas, Grace Elizabeth, and Devyn Garcia.
Paloma Elsesser is set to be the first-ever plus-sized model on the runway. (The brand did not feature a plus-sized model in a campaign until 2019, and has yet to have one on a runway.) It’s not exactly a first for Elsesser, though. She was also one of the first plus-sized models to walk the runway at Fendi in 2020.
The musical guests will include pop icon Cher, singer-songwriter Tyla, and K-pop favorite Lisa.
Atelier Designer in Residence
Finally, just days before the return of the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, the brand announced the last detail of its resurrection: the debut of “designer-in-residence” Joseph Altuzarra. According to Vogue, Altuzarra will spend an entire year with Victoria’s Secret designing clothes (and no, not just lingerie or pajamas), with the first looks set to appear on the October 15 runway.
“There is a real emotional connection to the brand,” Altuzarra said. “It’s where a lot of my friends bought their first bras, the place girls got their first perfume, and for a lot of gay boys like me, it was the first fashion show we saw, the first sort of really camp fashion moment that we experienced. So it’s been a dream to work with them.”
