Dua Lipa is being sued for millions of dollars because she used a tape in her hit song “Levitating” without permission.
Bosko Kante, a musician, has filed the case in Los Angeles. He says that the British pop star and her record label, Warner Music Group (WMG.O), never got his permission to use his “talk box” recording in remixes of her song “Levitating.”
“Levitating” was on Dua Lipa’s hit album Future Nostalgia, which came out in 2020. The song was on Billboard’s Hot 100 U.S. singles chart for 77 weeks, reaching its highest position of No. 2 in 2021.
In the middle of all this drama, the singer decided not to respond to a new complaint about her hit song. Instead, she chose to spend time with her new boyfriend, Romain Gavras.
The pop star, who is 27, looked calm and happy as she smoked a cigarette with her new boyfriend, who is 42, on Saturday in Ibiza, Spain.
Her 22-year-old sister Rina and 17-year-old brother Gjin also came.
Dua and Romain have been on a romantic trip together. Romain is the son of Costa-Gavras, a Greek-French director best known for his darkly comedic political movie Z.
After it came out that music producer Bosko Kante was suing her over the use of a recording in her hit song “Levitating,” they decided to go on a trip together.
