Westport arts group plans program on artificial intelligence


WESTPORT — Artificial intelligence will be the topic of a program, featuring live and interactive demonstrations, hosted Nov. 5 by the Westport Arts Advisory Committee at the Westport Library.

The “TEA [Thinkers, Educators and Artists] Talk,” exploring the impact of artificial intelligence on artists, arts education and the arts community, will take place at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 5, the library, 20 Jesup Road.

A panel discussion, moderated by Shobana Mani, the WAAC co-chair, will include:

Brian Keane, Emmy- and Grammy-winning composer musician, is leasing approximately 10,000 of his compositions in a computerized music library to entertainment outlets, utilizing AI in its metadata search system.

Liz Leggett, artist and arts consultant, is advising a tech company experimenting in AI-generated art, design and architecture.

Stephen Zimmerman, Westport public schools’ K-12 arts coordinator, oversees academic programs with available AI resources.

A question-and-answer program will follow the panel discussion.
