MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) – Superior Arts Youth Theatre put on its final performance of Finding Nemo Jr. at NMU’s Forest Roberts Theatre in Marquette on Sunday.
The adaptation of the classic Pixar film was performed by a cast of 66 kids.
The crew backstage, with a few exceptions, was also made up of children.
Becky Heldt, the Superior Arts Youth Theatre Executive Director, felt confident going into the last performance after what she said was a great run.
“We’ve had really full houses, really positive community response,” said Heldt. “I really love coming out in the lobby and seeing people of all ages from, you know, ninety to two, just here enjoying the show and really supporting these kids.”
Heldt said Superior Arts Youth Theatre provides a safe space for children to learn the performing arts.
She hopes audience members recognize the importance of Superior Arts Youth Theatre’s work and continue to support local theater.
