Due to the current writers strike, Marvel Studios has stopped the Blade reboot project. The next one was supposed to come out in September 2024, with Mahershala Ali as the main character and Aaron Pierre, Delroy Lindo, and Mia Goth in supporting roles.

Production, which was supposed to start in May, will now start later. This isn’t the first time a holdup has happened with a Marvel brand. Last year, when Blade’s director, Bassam Tariq, left, Disney moved the movie’s release date from 2023 to 2024.

In 2019, Marvel first said they were making a new Blade movie at San Diego Comic-Con. Yann Demange is now in charge of making the movie.

Nic Pizzolatto, who wrote True Detective, didn’t have enough time to finish rewriting the movie’s script before the Writers Guild of America (WGA) deadline.

When the writers strike ends, they will likely return to work on the vampire-hunter movie.

Blade was based on a character from Marvel comic books, and he first appeared in films as a supporting character before making his own movies. In the movies Blade, Blade II, and Blade: Trinity, the role was played by Wesley Snipes.
