Green Country Children’s Theatre Brings ‘The Lion, The Witch, And The Wardrobe’ To Life

Green Country Children’s Theatre, founded in April 2022 by Sheila Alley, has quickly become a staple in northeastern Oklahoma’s performing arts scene, dedicated to nurturing creativity and self-esteem in local youth.

Since its opening, the theater has staged popular productions such as “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”, “Peter Pan”, “The Wizard of Oz”, “Aladdin”, and “Haphazardly Ever After”.

This month, Green Country Children’s Theatre is presenting “The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe” for the second time due to its success in a previous season. Alley notes that the story’s timeless charm and seasonal appeal make it an ideal choice to usher in the holiday spirit.

The performances are set to take place over two weekends, with a unique double cast lineup, where one cast performs during the first weekend, and the other takes the stage the following weekend. Only two roles, The White Witch and Aslan, are consistent across all performances.

Rehearsals have brought out a high level of professionalism from the young cast members, with first-time actors and younger performers meeting the theater’s high standards.

The team has worked diligently to bring the fantastical world of Narnia to life, and the audience can expect an immersive experience enhanced by a visually captivating set.
