The Barrow County School System has been honored with the prestigious Golden Radish Award for the school year 2023-2024. This award recognizes the outstanding achievements of the School Nutrition Department in promoting farm-to-school initiatives.

School Nutrition Director Nicole Trunk was recently recognized for her exceptional leadership and dedication to enhancing students’ nutrition through farm-to-school programs. The Golden Radish Award is presented by the Georgia Department of Education, Georgia Department of Agriculture, Georgia Department of Public Health and the UGA Cooperative Extension to school districts in Georgia that demonstrate extraordinary efforts in farm-to-school activities.
