GlenOak grad Elijah Lamar Perrin wins top Ohio Entertainment Award


 

BEDFORD HEIGHTS – Canton native Elijah Lamar, a television and film actor and recording artist will receive the Ohio Entertainment Awards “2024 Renaissance Man of the Year” award at 4 p.m. on Nov. 17 at 25021 Rockside Road.

He won a Best Male Actor award from the Ohio Entertainment Awards in 2021.

Born Elijah Lamar Perrin, he is a 2007 graduate of GlenOak High School. He has more than 50 acting credits in TV and films, recently landing a starring role in the new upcoming TV series “The Dirty A.”

Perrin previously had a recurring role on the hit crime series, “BMF” on Starz. He also recently completed “They Cloned Tyrone” — a sci-fi comedy film starring Oscar-winning actor and musician Jamie Foxx; a “Madea’s Homecoming” Tyler Perry special in 2022, and “Staircase,” a crime drama for HBO. 

He also had a recurring role on the Netflix series “Step Up,”

In August, Perrin headlined the Beats & Bars Music Festival in Canton. Performing rap onstage as “Young Smurf,” he signed a recording deal in 2017 with Empire Records of Atlanta, where he has resided since 2020.
