Tenor Paul Nicosia will headline a spectacular holiday event, “Let the Season Begin!”, taking place on December 6th and 7th at the Jim & Linda Lee Performing Arts Center in Prescott, AZ.
Don’t let the holidays sneak up on you! This year, indulge in the sights, sounds, and joys of the season. Yavapai College provides the perfect starting point with a beautiful blend of traditional music and song. The event will be held on Friday, December 6, at 7 p.m. and Saturday, December 7, at 3 p.m. in the Jim & Linda Lee Performing Arts Center.
“Let the Season Begin! has always been a magical highlight of our season,” said Dr. Craig Ralston, Director of Programming and Development at the JLLPAC. “It allows us to showcase the remarkable musical talent within our Performing Arts Department while celebrating the holiday spirit.”
This year’s event will feature the soaring voice of guest tenor Paul Nicosia. He is well-known to local audiences for his role in the JLLPAC’s 2023 production of Handel’s Messiah. Nicosia is a highly sought-after regional performer, with credits from the Arizona Opera that include Telemachus in “Hercules vs. Vampires” and Danny in “Arizona Lady.” He has also sung the tenor solo in Haydn’s “Creation” and portrayed Tamino in Mozart’s “Die Zauberflöte” at Arizona Musicfest, as well as Giovanni in the University of Arizona Opera’s “La Hija de Rappaccini.” Inspired by Acker Night and the Prescott Courthouse Square lighting (which makes a delightful double feature after Saturday’s afternoon performance), “Let the Season Begin!” has become a cherished tradition in Arizona’s Christmas City.
The Jim & Linda Lee Performing Arts Center will open its doors adorned in festive decor. Starting at 5 p.m. on Friday, December 6, enjoy the Sculpture Garden with Luminaria, live music, hot chocolate, and treats. Afterward, attendees can settle in for an uplifting holiday program featuring Yavapai College’s full orchestra and combined choral ensembles. The performance will showcase a rich mix of traditional Christmas classics and contemporary favorites, ensuring a delightful experience for the entire family.
Tickets for “Let the Season Begin!” start at $25, with youth tickets available for $10. The Sculpture Garden reception on December 6 is free. For reservations or more information, please contact the Jim & Linda Lee Performing Arts Center Ticket Office, located on Yavapai College’s Prescott Campus at 1100 E. Sheldon Street.
