Tickets to go on sale for ‘Book of Mormon,’ Kravis Center Gala with Harry Connick Jr.

Tickets go on sale this week for two of the robust lineup of live events coming this spring to the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts — including a performance by a hit musician at the center’s annual gala.

The West Palm Beach performing arts venue began selling tickets Friday for the hit musical “The Book of Mormon,” which runs March 11-16.

And starting at noon Saturday, tickets will be on sale for the annual Kravis Center Gala on March 5, which will feature a live performance by musician and actor Harry Connick Jr., the Kravis Center announced this week.

Throughout his career, Connick has racked up a number of wins, including two Emmy Awards and three Grammy Awards, along with multiple Tony Awards nominations. In addition to his work as an actor, his music has been featured in TV shows and movies including the 1989 romantic comedy “When Harry Met Sally,” the album for which quickly went platinum and earned him his first Grammy.

Singer, actor and musician Harry Connick Jr. will perform at the Kravis Center Gala in March.

The gala begins with a cocktail reception at 5:30 p.m. in the Cohen Pavilion’s Harris Pre-Function Hall. Connick’s performance will begin at 7 in the Alexander W. Dreyfoos Concert Hall, and the evening will close with a dinner dance in the Gimelstob Ballroom, the Kravis Center said.

“The Book of Mormon” is one of the most successful Broadway productions in history, with nine Tony Awards, a Grammy and five Drama Desk Awards. During its run in the United Kingdom, it received four Olivier Awards and set a record for the most sales on a single day in London’s West End.

The musical comedy tells the story of a pair of young Mormon missionaries and the adventures they face as they try to spread their faith in a Ugandan village.

Tickets for “The Book of Mormon” start at $50. Performances will be at 7:30 p.m. March 11, 12 and 13; 8 p.m. March 14 and 15; and 2 p.m. March 12, 15 and 16.

“The Book of Mormon” is part of the venue’s 16th Kravis on Broadway series.
