Northwest Arkansas Technology Summit hopes to expand the tech community
More than 50 booths and 100 sessions will be held during the summit
Technology companies from across the nation are gathering in Roger this week for the 10th annual NWA Tech Summit. This year’s theme is “Year of the Machines,” focusing on artificial intelligence and automation. More than 2,000 people are expected to attend through Wednesday. The summit will feature presentations from companies such as Walmart, Microsoft, and Tyson. Director Kris Adams, said there’s something for everyone. “So if you’re interested in automation, security and privacy, retail innovation, health, tech, or even some community tech, which is tech, that’s not just here in the community, but that benefits the community, we have tracks for you,” said Adams.Adams said the goal of the event is to highlight the growing tech community across Northwest Arkansas. “We’ve seen a huge buy-in from the local tech community that really wants to focus on showcasing Northwest Arkansas as a tech hub in its own right,” he said. “It’s a great place to network and to really build more than a conference. We’re working to build a tech community here in northwest ArkansasThe summit will be held at the Rogers Convention Center through Wednesday. Events begin at 7:30 a.m. each day. The summit is open to all ticket holders. However, students, educators, entrepreneurs, military, and veterans can get in free. You must show proof of ID and come dressed in a military uniform. Tickets can be purchased online.
