LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) – The managing partner of a downtown La Crosse entertainment venue said the doors were closing at the end of the year. 

Matt Mahlum of The Main – An Event Space, said they’ve “made the difficult decision to close our doors in 2025.”

The Main opened three years ago at 422 Main.

The space has hosted a variety of musical and comedy shows over the years along with meetings and other gatherings.

On November 4, the day before the election, then-Vice Presidential candidate Gov. Tim Walz made his only stop of the campaign in La Crosse at the location. 

There are still several public shows planned at The Main before the end of the year.
