Former Disney Star Joins Kirk Cameron to Transform Kids Entertainment

Kirk Cameron’s new kids show, THE ADVENTURES OF IGGY AND MR. KIRK, snagged former Disney channel star Leigh-Allyn Baker to join the mission to transform children’s entertainment.
Baker shared with CCM Magazine how she got involved with the project.
“So, Brave Books is nothing short of brave,” the actress, who played Amy Duncan in GOOD LUCK CHARLIE, said. “Whenever they see a hole in children’s entertainment, they just dive in head first whether they’ve done it or not. They dive in to fill that hole, and they thought we needed a kids show. They called me and said how do we do that? I had written a book for them, and they knew that this was not an area that I was unfamiliar with, so I jumped in to help produce it.”

Baker then explained that her role is not exclusively behind the scenes. She makes a few appearances on the show, too.
“There’s a few episodes where I play ‘Creatively,’ and she does arts and craft segments with the kids, and she’s Kirk’s cousin,” she explained.
The series premiered just a few days ago, and Baker couldn’t be more thrilled.
“It was truly an ADVENTURE producing this project for @kirkcameronofficial and @bravebooks.us,” she wrote on Instagram. “To all of you who thought you could ‘cancel’ me… Thank you! I was never canceled. I was redirected!”
Aside from THE ADVENTURES OF IGGY AND MR. KIRK, Baker is on a college tour talking about several key issues with students.
“Outside of this, I’m on a college tour right now talking to college kids about cancel culture and what it means to stand up and be bold and tell the truth no matter what the ridiculous consequences because cancel culture is not a thing,” Baker said.
In October, Baker spoke to “over 400 students at West Virginia University.”
Baker most recently spoke at the University of Florida where she shared “her journey, insights on Hollywood, and why she chose to take a stand for her values. This is a rare opportunity to hear firsthand about the realities of the entertainment industry and her personal path breaking away from it.”
