WIAA state meet

Division 2 girls

WISCONSIN RAPIDS, Wis. — West Salem’s girls were 11th with a score of 258, and junior Mia Olson had the area’s top Division 2 finish when she crossed the line 23rd in a time of 19:55.4.

Olson’s finish gave West Salem 15 team points, and junior Kennedy Garbers added 44 with her 77th-place finish and time of 20:55.9.

Junior Faith Minard (82nd, 21:06.5) wasn’t far behind Garbers. Senior Payton Greer (106th, 21:56.9) and freshman Elise Flock (120th, 22:18.3) helped the Panthers to their final team score.

Logan freshman Kareena Ramakrishnan ran to a 70th-place finish (20:49.4), while G-E-T senior Adrianna Rotering (71st, 20:49.9) crossed the finish line with her. Viroqua junior Rivyn DiPadova was 112th in 22:02.7.

Division 3 girls

WISCONSIN RAPIDS, Wis. — Aquinas placed eighth with a score of 210, and Brookwood was 14th (292) in a meet won by Lancaster (92).

Phillips (138) and Darlington (138) were second and third, and individual champion Autumn Michalski, a Chequamegon senior, beat the competition by 53 seconds and broke the meet record by 50 seconds with her winning time of 18:02.

Aquinas sophomore Alexis Myre placed 14th overall in 19:52.5) as the first local runner to cross the finish line. The Blugolds also received a 45th-place performance from freshman Emily Bagniefski (20:44.7), who was 20th among runners connected to qualifying teams.

Freshman Hope Hawker (87th, 21:53.6), sophomore Bethany Hale (100th, 22:20.2) and freshman Helen Onyeabor (114th, 22:51.9) were also scoring runners for Aquinas.

The Falcons were led by senior Amelia Muellenberg (88th, 21:55.5) and sophomore Ruby Muehlenkamp (89th, 21:57.2). Brookwood also received points from freshman Maggie Stenerson (102nd, 22:25.1), sophomore Brynn Thurston (104th, 22:30.3) and freshman Miranda Arndt (105th, 22:30.4).

Bangor junior Anna Fronk was 21st overall in 20:02.3), and Westby sophomore Elizabeth Curtis finished 27th in 20:16.5.
